Hi all

Looking for either a Cisco techie or a techie in general to look into my router. Was working normally and suddenly died, Telkom says their line is good so any ideas as to what it could be? It's a diginet line.

Thanks

What exactly is the problem?
Does it switch on?
Can you access it via the console or telnet session?
What is the status of the interfaces?

if your router is dead how can one check it from the outside world?

Telkom can check your line up to the MTU that was a few years back when I world for UUNet so if they say the line is up it should be - check the circut number & tell them to test it again

You got PM. The first thing you need to do is determine if you can access the unit via telnet or console - if you cannot, then it is most likely a physical problem. If you can access the unit but cannot connect to the next hop, then you need to run:

#en
#show ver
#show inv
#show run

Find the serial interface configured for the leased line, using the "Show run" command and run:

#show int s0/0 (or the number of your interface - should be s0/#)

Copy and paste the info from the four show commands (hide any passwords, IPs etc), and we can take a look....

assuming he manages this, i get the feeling a password reset is gonna be needed...
