Cisco says it aims to launch a tablet computer for the business world early next year

Cisco is increasing its business and consumer market presence. I am not too surprised at this...

Well it is targeted at business clients, not the consumer market - so I wouldn't say this has much to do with the consumer market.

The home consumer market is very badly represented, if you watch overseas sitcoms/series you start noticing them a lot more. I think it's a good move of them to create something which is more suited to to simpleton home owner.

A thousand dollars? U can get the Asian Iped with a dual core CPU, 3G and Android 2.1 for 280 dollars.

This appears to be more than just a tablet - looks to be the device to converge IPT, Telepresence and mobile computing.

So, naturally, there's a large Cisco back-end to support this converged endpoint, making it really useful in a Cisco-centric corporate network.
