Hi all

I want to sell my VW Citi Golf Chico. It's a 2005 1400 (one with the facelifted dash and interior) and it has 112 000km on the clock. Interior is immaculate and exterior just has a few minor scratches and chips from normal road use. It's the carburetor one with the 13inch steel wheels. It has full service history (most recent service was last month including cambelt change), and I've just replaced the tyres and battery.

Any idea what it would be worth? I've been browsing around on gumtree and OLX but the prices seem to vary around R35k - R45k but all have considerably higher mileage.

Any opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks

It would be worth R35k - R45k...

Mileage on that vehicle isn't really an issue.... its the fact that its a Citi Golf that puts its value in that range.

With slightly lower than average mileage and full-service history, which helps to prove that the mileage is actually genuine, you can try the top end of the range, but I'm pretty sure that no-body's going to offer you R50 for it.

Thanks for the replies...looks like I'll try my luck at around the 40k mark and see what I get.

Buy a 1.6i engine for R 5k, drop it in and sell it for more :p

edit: Bleh you'll need a computer box too. So add another R 2k

true valu

I would as a ford dealer offer a max trade in of R28000.or you could be lookiing
At a retial value of R35000

This is subject to condition.
That will be a depritiation % of 50% over 9-10 years quite good

Welcome, are you planning on staying on the forum? We could use a couple of dealers.

Save yourself the hassle of selling it privately and take the trade in!

We are selling a 2007 Citi Chico for R45k with 46000km on the clock.
With Smash n grab, alarm, etc.
I think you'll battle to get R45k for the mileage you have.

Big difference between 28k and 40k though...

True, but he won't get 40. Someone will come along and offer him 22. Someone else will offer 15. Then a guy might offer 32. If you are lucky, you will get an offer north of R28k. But it can take a while, during which time you still have to pay insurance on the car.

How much does insurance cost you per month?

That is very true...but I thought these cars were in very high demand?

You should consider keeping the car. Its worth more than you will get it for. I have a citi golf that I decided to keep when I got another car because I was going to sell it for next to nothing.
