Claremont exchange down

According to Telkom people in Claremont area will experience problems connecting via ADSL since the exchange is being worked on. No ETA.
 
Claremont exchange was down last night from about 8pm to about 6am this morning. That is all I know.
 
I have been getting these insane lag spikes in games ever since around that time. I live in Pinelands though, wondering if they are somehow related.
