btw don't some Jesuit colleges institutions name their mascot on a pun of the Superior General ["Black Pope" (which is actually one of the nicknames for my sisters dog - it started as pope ralphicus for some or another reason - despite the fact that the Jesuits aren't the Dominicans) :)] or Provincial at the time the institution started. I seem to recall something along those lines.
 
if he wasn't famous or well known no one would of cared... the media just seeks attention,some goes with the oscar thing,how many ppl get killed in a day and in lots of ways,just cuz he is well known its a big thing,if it was one of us no one would make a big fuss about it or the media world wide

"Seep" and "Water" are quite appropriate names for a dog:

There was this scruffy oke had a social worker around for dinner to inspect on his living conditions and suitability for children. She was quite apprehensive expecting the entire house to be filthy and no the plates to be entirely unusable. On arriving the house was expectedly dirty and a mess but the plates absolutely immaculately clean had a wonderful dinner and asked him why he went to all the effort to have clean plates but didn't extend the effort to other areas of the house. He replied the plates are easy I just use Seep and Water ...

Interesting... we've only used ours to clean up random spills on the floors. Thanks for the idea.

That's because the N word wasn't always derogatory. It is simply derived from the cognate form for 'black', as we find it in the surname Negroponte, for example. Before the late 1950s, most civil rights advocates still referred to themselves as Negroes. Only later did the word become tainted, mainly because certain advocates wished to purge old discriminatory mindsets by relanguaging.

Laying the charge of racism on Gibson is anachronistic and unfair. Language changes.

They changed his name to Digger in one of the films.

Sorry for any wrong impression given. Of course I know your post is entirely innocent. Apols. You were mentioning an entirely relevant historical tidbit, and I only intended to assuage the negative judgment of those who misread Gibson.

I personally think Clarkson is a knobhead, but this is ridiculous. I think the name is pretty cool as well.

Clarkson is a knob head. And he should be more intelligent. He should know that calling his black dog after a black jock will get him labelled, and frankly it's not a decent thing to do to call your dog that. He makes his living at the BBC, which is a left leaning organisation, he should deal with a typical left wing shaming.
