Class Action Against Vodacom

The fact that I am loud about this does not mean that I am the only pain in the butt. There are others and I am speaking for them as well. I am not going away, cancel my contract (how attractive that might seem at the moment) or shutting up.
Vodacom would not want it any other way. Exercising your right as a consumer, in an constructive manner, can only benefit all parties.

I live in PTA and last night was the first time in a long while where my 3G connection stayed up for more than 5 mins at a time.

AFAIK, one cannot institute a class action suit in South Africa. You can however individually sue them en masse.

Well, I am tired sueing Vodacom. :-) Giving up on that idea. :-) Also have a stable connection now. :-) :-)

VMS, what is the status re your request to be reimbursed for the lost service?

Must say at the beginning of last year when we had these spates of disconnects, and loss of service, after a call and an e-mail to customer care, I was credited a full month - and I received a call from the VodaCom COO to apologise for the probles and thank me for my patience...

I know they realise that you pay to use the service, and also realise that if you cannot use something than why pay for it?

Send a nicely worded mail (perhaps to V3G and customer care [email protected]) don't make threats to do this that and the other. Basically tell them you are dissatisfied with the current problems, and they need to rectify, and you want some form of compensation, and I'm sure that they will look at the situation and compensate you accordinally...

The only thing they offered me was to take back my card and cancel my contract. I see I am dealing with different levels of people. The regional manager also thought that was a bad move.

I will take the customer services thing into consideration :-)

I cant wait for my Vodacom 3g contract to expire, i am never doing business with them again.

Vodacom3G i dnt know if ppl are stilll experiencing probs but i have made a few observations. Right now i`m at a friends house in Pretoria ( Mooikloofridge) and we both have novatel cards mine has latest firmware his is still the origional version the card came shipped with in march 2005 i get a very shaky connection (light on card goes red every few min ) and his is rock solid both using 32k sims and Dash ver 6 we swopped cards and my card still does the signal loss thing but in Kempton park i have a solid connection and the card with old firmware disconnects often. Might help you with the centurion/pretoria prob might not, just pointing it out.
oh i dnt get disconnected btw just signal loss for about a min and i cant refresh pages right then and get 3G signal back after about a min and a half.

This would have been much less of a problem if customers' basic needs were adressed: Why should Megabytes have a half-life of 30 days? I mean, you've paid for them already, right?

It would be very interesting to see the reasons for that nad the resolution... I dont really like V6 of the dashboard, to me still gives to many hassles. However can I ask what laptops you were using? Wre they new or old ones. ( old being like more than 6 months)

Acer travelmate 8001LCi (newish); Acer Aspire 1673WLMi (1 year old); Dell Latitude (new) all using dash ver 6. The Option Fusion card seems to have no issues tho. Have to check the firmware ver.

btw i havent had any issues with dash ver 6.
