Hi folks
We changed the Classifieds Section slightly on request of some members. We do not allow any ‘newbies’ to post classifieds in the 3 main free sections:
Computer Equipment Sales
Cellular Phone Sales
Non-Computer Sales
Everyone who is logged in can post in the ‘Wanted’ and ‘Commercial products and services’ Categories, but there is a small cost attached to the Commercial category. This should be enough to eliminate most spammers (having a real name attached to a payment). A few merchants have also asked for such a section to advertise new goods which may be of value to the community, and the small cost (and I think more the hassle to go through the payment process) should eliminate spamming.
To post a classified in the traditional sections remains completely free to all members who have been registered for 10 days and have at least 10 posts. There is also an option to highlight ads, make it bold or italic at a cost (certainly not necessary I think, but it is there if someone wants to test their Paypal account
).
We will monitor the section and see if it has the desired effect…
Regards,
RPM
