How does one go about cleaning a ribbon cable. i.e. to say you can buy it by the metre, so you cut the length you require not how do you strip it to make the contacts show?
i.e.single sided

I'm a little confused. Is it the normal ribbon cable you use on hard drives etc? If I'm thinking of the right one, why would you want to strip it?

It's a ribbon cable that has no connectors it's stripped clean on one side only which means it's a male on both ends

There's no stripping of wires. It's pretty much like a RJ11/45 connector. The connector cuts into the wires when it is put on the cable...

I'm not actually with you...Its
a ribbon cable that on the ends is about 3cms clean on one side this goes straight into a connector there's no connctor on the end of it

Then it's not a normal ribon cable like you said :) Definately not the same ribon cable as is used for hard drives / flopy drives...

Post a pic, or send a url to a picture, then we can have a look ;)

*EDIT* sorry, wasn't you, some one else said :> Post a pic, let's see it... It's more than likely not a normal ribon cable
