What is the best to clean the keyboard keys and especially the on/off button on the macbook - the white one. I can seem to get it white white with a damp cloth.

Also, can I remove the keyboard keys by pulling them off or will this break them??

I wouldnt try popping off those keys

See if you can source yourself some Mr Clean Magic Eraser - or see if there is a local equivalent.

I use baby wipes, the Johnson's type. They work really well. I have the benefit of having lots of them around.
And that gets rid of the discolouration?

Damn - only got the huggies ones. :o

Don't know about the discolouration but using them regularly seems to keep the keys clean.
I have had issues with the top case cracking so even though my machine is almost a year old I have a nice new keyboard.

I previously popped 2 keys off the keyboard and saw that the retention clips are very small and look fragile so I stopped doing it - eventually took an earbud dampened in warm water and 'scrubbed' the keys - a little long winded process but at least the keys are arctic white again (including the infernal power button)

Will see if I can get Mr Clean magic eraser

Finally got my hands on some of those Mr Clean Magic Erasers and realised I'd forgot what I wanted them for!

You know that a dishwasher can do wonders on any* keyboard? That’s if you can operate a week without said keyboard while it dries properly. :D

Edit:
*Forget about your laptop/cellphone keyboard now! I'm talking about a standalone Keyboard here :)

And as long as its not a laptop. :)

You get a generic cleaner here in SA, for screens, keyboards, phones, etc. It comes in a blue (and yellow I think) aerosol can ... will check with the wife later what it is called
