Scenario, showers where the grouting is discoloured or has those odd black spots. Scrubbing does not work.

Any suggestions wrt off the shelf products, home rememedies & miracle cures?

Natural type method: Mix 3 parts of baking soda to 1 part water to make a thick paste. Apply with your finger and scrub after 10 minutes with an old toothbrush. Rinse with water.

Would substituting the water with bleach not work better?
For cleaning stubborn stains on other surfaces, I mix bleach with vim.

Spray with vinegar/water solution and sprinkle baking soda over. Scrub thereafter.

Dont waste your time, get TFC grout cleaner from builders. It will dissolve the top layer of the grout and is the only thing that works. (apart from mechanically removing the top layer with elbow grease after aplying the above mentioned solutions.)

Spray bleach over affected areas. Leave to stand overnight. Problem solved by next morning.

This stuff is great

This stuff really works. Made for tiles etc.

It called TC10. Got it from Mica Hardware.

Gonna pass this info on so long as it's off the shelf products so no faffing about. Will also look into the baking soda, vinegar & bleach options.

Go to a tile shop, don't recall the brand but it's a black bottle and has the greek pyramid things for a logo.

It's highly acidic. You put it in a dropper and run it along the grout then let it sit for a bit and scrub it away.

Works like a charm.

Just Googled and yes that's the one I was referring to.

Works like magic.
