Absolutely not, this is a lie peddled by religions to keep people in check.
The most atheist nations are also arguably the most moral (Scandinavian)
Religion has given us very few good things in it's history
Just from my experience: The religious people are definitely less likely to smoke/get p!ssed every weekend/take drugs because God guides them ~ it definitely makes it easier to resist these temptations. They are also far more likely to be kind, forgiving and understanding of someone else's problem. That's just from my experience of meeting Christians and atheists alike (who generally do the opposite of the above)
While I haven't had an intensely personal experience with God (yet), I've seen people literally transformed into a total different character because of their experience with God. They've become mentally stronger and more likable.
Although I agree with SoulSnatcher...this reaction a step too far but I'm not really bothered by some religious nutter because there are definitely some atheist nutters as well
