"Clips" on Mnet

Something I am wondering....

Clips on MNet is obviously popular as it is back for another season. Now my query is am I the only person who does not enjoy watching other people get, what is in some instances quite clearly very badly, hurt and even worse then find this extremely humorous?

Yes, I do find some clips funny but this is definitely not the ones where people land on their heads or smash into trees at high speed! My friends know not to send me the emails, which others seem to get much enjoyment out of, showing people involved in crashes, broken limps, accidents etc but now I am subjected to this on TV at night.

Anyway as stated just wondering if others share my view or whether most people find this sort of viewing gratifying?
 
maybe try, err...growing a sack, perhaps?

and yes, it's very gratifying.
 
I agree with you LancelotSA. I don't like seeing videos/pictures of people hurting themselves.

Yip, it is clips from the net usually that they then show on Mnet. You correctly state "supposedly funny"

So watching someone else getting injured and enjoying it means you have balls? Hmmm interesting. I suppose rubber necking at a road accident must make you a real man then! :rolleyes:
 
You don't think Jackass is funny?

i've hurt my balls plenty times, and know pain, but you get over it! some guy falling off a skateboard balls first into a pole is another level of pain, yes - but still funny.

Really now, i'm sure the people IN those videos are probably laughing with everyone else today..

If you refer to the first post I was merely wondering whether others felt as I do. Your response does not tell me whether you enjoy it.

Out of interest 7pm on a Tuesday my choice is :

SABC 1 So You Think You Can Dance
SABC 2 Nuus
SABC 3 News
ETV e News
MNET Clipz

So yeah you right I do have the choice to not watch anything at that time if I so choose. :)

Now bear in mind too that a lot of kids go to bed at 7:30 so they get to watch people getting hurt and get to associate this with humour.... strange world we live in!

Aha, but you see Jackass is different... those guys do these things to themselves deliberately, and make a fortune out of it to help with the pain. I have also not seen them break anything or get killed... some of these clips I am not sure of the latter...

The concrete roof collapsing on the car and appearing to pretty much crush it - you think they are laughing? I cannot really name too many others as after a while I took Feo's advice and stopped watching. Yes, a guy turning and walking into a sliding door is funny but some things just aren't when you can tell the person got injured!

If it's a programme that has anything to do with Whackhead Simpson you could already know what to expect. I find his stuff either hysterically funny or incredibly lame.

I also find his radio stuff way better than the TV stuff so I usually don't bother to watch

Yeah, I agree I find his radio stuff very funny too. That is humour.
 
yes, they are funny, but some times get uncomfortable because the oak got seriously hurt... but by then I've changed the channel :D

But I for one will never understand South African humor... I don't want to call it cheesy, but it's all rather obvious humor... I mean, I like to use pun's with most of what I say, I use sarcasm and wit a lot and only a few people catch on,. . . . . and then the other people catch on... It's happens numerous times with my english teacher who doesn't pick up my pun's or humor and I get marked down :(
