Is it possible to clone my own broadband sim, i want to keep my current sim in my router at home and not take it out all the time to put in my phone when i go to work.

I asked this recently at a Vodacom shop, and they say they no longer allow it. However my wife has a cloned SIM in her iPad (she uses the SIM in her phone) and both still work.

She did get this more than 5 years ago, though.

Do you mean clone it yourself or have the network do it?

The former there is no way in hell.

The latter depends highly on the network.

Most networks allow a secondary SIM. Telkom have Family, MTN used to have Dual SIM, Vodacom something else....
It's the terminology...if you ask for clone, no. If you ask for the other terms above....more likely.

Yes with the other networks you can share one data package using multiple sims. Costs something like R5 per month per additional SIM. Those are all capped products. Not sure if Rain is capped or not, but there would of course be no chance of getting multiple sims on an uncapped product.

ok thanks, a secondary sim will work fine, does axxess have this, i am on a capped package.

I don't understand, my internet is capped not uncapped

Considering the potential for criminal use in banking apps, I doubt the networks will go for this anymore.

You posted this thread under Other Broadband Services > Rain LTE-A and Mobile Data

So people assumed that you wanted to clone your Rain uncapped sim is a valid assumption to make.
