Cloud Computing

Cloud computing will not take off in SA until every business has at least a 20MB line and bandwidth becomes available and is much more affordable.

Second alot of companies are afraid of another company having all their IP. If they get hacked then there is a lot at stake...

Stormy weather ahead as the world tries to access their part of the cloud whilst visiting SA for the 2010 festivities.

Gauteng has some pretty mean cloud bursts! :D The thunder and lightning is awesome to behold!

Thirdly we don't have wall to wall broadband coverage in SA - and most professionals need to be able to work on the move

That's a fantastic misconception.

Plenty of SA companies are taking advantage of hosted Exchange and other solutions. Big companies too.

If you still think "cloud computing will not take off in SA" you're not only wrong, you're behind the times. It already has.

too many passwords

Intresting article imel. I see a problem with remembering passwords. I you dont repeat passwords then must be having to remember around 10 passwords.

Even more passwords if you use boot passwords.

For the foreseeable future I will be taking my laptop with me to and from the office.
