Co op games for the SO

Bought 2 controllers for my pc so that the GF and I can play some games together (preferably at the same time)

Any suggestions please

Any genre is fine except FPS
 
The Lego games are usually quite a lot of fun for co-op. Pick a game depending on what you like, Harry Potter, Batman, LOTR, Star Wars etc.

At first when my son asked me to get them I was pfft, Lego kiddie games.
Now I am the one hooked.
They are really so much fun, and there is so much to do it keeps you busy for hours.

Plus if you keep an eye on steam you can get them for next to nothing.
Bought like six of them the other day for something like $10.
 
Mortal Kombat X.

I tried to get SO to play Left 4 Dead 2... it ended in an argument.

The LEGO games are fun, but they feel incredibly repetitive at some stages.

The gf and I have played co-op games like:
* Portal 2 (does Portal 1 have co-op?)
* Broforce
* Castle Crashers (very cute and lots of fun)
* The Expendabros (this should be free)
* Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition
* Awesomenauts
* Speedrunners
* Capsized
* Monaco

I still want to try out the co-op modes for:
* Binding of Isaac Rebirth

Other games which should be fun:
* Worms revolution (does it have controller support though?)
* Don't starve (does it have controller support?)
* Octodad
* Brothers: a tale of two sons
