Their database seems very limited for PC. There are a lot of games I've listed that don't even appear there. Nice idea, but falls short, IMO.

+1 on Mortal Kombat.
I had it on a PC couple of years ago, and SO started playing it and enjoyed it. To the point that she MUST finish it before coming to bed.
I have just ordered my copy for the Xbox. Looking forward to @$%#$# each other.
Wait, isn't MK versus only? Or does it have tag mode?

My bad, I missed the co-op part. Was assuming something that they could play together.
My SO enjoyed playing Delta Force together. In the end we starting shooting each other though.

I gave my old PC to my girlfriend, formatted cleaned etc. dug out Trine 2 and see likes it alot
The previous MK had a tag mode but I can't recall if it was co-op as well.
Load shedding is fun for the whole family!

Senran Kagura Crimson Burst 2 for the 3DS coming August 2015 - EU, US, Australia. You can play two characters at once in that one.
I have a hard enough time explaining DOA to my friends. Imagine if I have to explain Senran Kagura to a gf.

I see your point. The ninja arts thing could be tricky I guess to master for newbie players.
He can play it with his SO.
Sanran Kagura Bon Appetit is a music game he can enjoy with his SO. Many girls like music games.
BTW DOA is a great game to enjoy with an SO. It has no fatalities or deaths in arcade or VS mode which is girl friendly. There are colourful and glamorous outfits which can be worn and customised. There are fun taunts. The graphics are pretty good. The background scenery is quite interesting. Games can be saved and reviewed from all angles to determine tactics but also be amazed by the quality of the physics, costumes and character expressions. He could play Vs or co-op mode with his SO as a tag team.

Well my GF got us into Dota 2. It can be really fun if you take the time to get into it. Especially if you get a wombo combo going.
Else minecraft is probably even better, great to build something together just to have a creeper in your house to destroy everything
