I'm referring to the re-sealable 330ml PET bottles from Coca-Cola.

I've seen these at my hometown in Plettenberg Bay but I've yet to see them anywhere in Cape Town... Does anyone know why they aren't that popular? Anyone seen them on sale in Cape Town?

They all over Pretoria. Especially the schools. Kids constantly ask me for R 5 to buy a coke :D

i wonder what they cost if you stock them from Coke or a Wholesaler sure margins are pretty slim

They don't have barcodes on them. A PITA for shop-owners.

I didn't know this, wonder why they didn't put barcodes on them
Still, never see them in spaza shops, which don't use barcode scanners anyway...

No sure if same in cape town but saw them selling at a few Fruit and Veg / Food lovers Markets here in Joburg.

I'd prefer the glass 300ml bottle than this plastic one.

I haven't seen these yet in Centurion or Johannesburg.

You sir are correct nothing beats coke in the glass bottle - Too bad they don't sell it every where :(

All the spaza shops in Cape Town CBD sell the glass bottles. I just prefer the plastic bottles because they nice and light, also like the idea of a R5 bottle... Nice for when you want a bit of coke but not a whole 500ml :D

It's exactly the same volume as the cans. I guess the plastic is cheaper for them to use than tin.

My colleague from Montana buys them on weekends and then sells them to us during the week at R6 each. I have probably had over 100 of these by now.

Yes but you can't reseal a can ;)

Possibly just me but those "bottles" look like the hideous love child of AHS's Twisty and ASOIAF's Tyrion... Like a forced perspective experiment gone very badly wrong... Like a Sharks fan thought it was a beer can and crushed it on his forehead while it was still full... Fugly.

same here smaller shops keep them and a few dealers - but i use it for everyday use at home - I have a few cases i buy every few months problem is availability and price they shot up from -/- R80 a case to R120 a case
In terms of taste - glass then can then plastic - the taste is very noticeably different- Plastic also as a limited shelf life * they only last like 3 months from manufacture and it takes a few weeks to get to the shops

Someone must tell that chick from the capitec ad that she can get a coke for R5 :D
