Cockpit vs Tablet Dash

How did you experience the new tablet dash style (gives me a I forgot to design a dash but lets stick some ipads to it vibe) ?
Is it easy to use and visible in direct sunlight ?

Im aiming for a new car by 2020 sometime but the new tablet dash simply doesnt do it for me . If I use the mk8 as a refrence point it looks like VW is also going in that direction .
