Have you ever cooked with it and if so, what is your verdict, also as opposed to e.g. olive oil?

Thanks

Erm, do people actually use coconut oil as a lubricant as opposed to a cooking ingredient in certain dishes?

I have never used it although I would guess it is mainly used in thai cooking? Not a fan of the taste of thai food though.

I have cooked with it in the past.. No spectacular difference in flavor in general cooking. The smoke point is basically the same as olive oil so again no big difference in stir frying. It did give the stir fry a nice bit of flavor.

Overall nothing special. Used the bottle I bought and promptly forgot about it.

Apparently.

I guess so.

I am interested in finding out how healthy it is as opposed to the other oils.

Its filled with electrolytes, extremely good for you! May I also suggest cooking in Soyoil, its cholesterol-free and high in polyunsaturated fat.

People who choose to cook with coconut oil will be doing it for the reason that there is virtually no polyunsaturated fat! So the two are not comparable.
