Here's a (perhaps) stupid question, is it illegal to bind the fire command to your mouse wheel, thereby firing faster?

I have a problem with my hands - my left hand is mostly useless (can't use my pinkie, and second last finger) and therefore use my left hand for most tasks.

I don't wanna be banned again for something like this.

Doesnt make much sense that :)

Dont take my word, but if youre allowed to do it ingame then go for it

Thing is, BINDING in COD4 is looked down on, I can't even explain how many games I've played online where people complain and LEAVE the server because they 'know' or 'suspect' other players of BINDING.

The other day, a guy made a movie and took screenshots of another user BINDING and threatened to send it in to SGS admins.
*I know this because the was openly warning another player via txt msgs what he was doing and asked him to stop binding etc or he will report him*

Personally, I don't care myself, I play the game and have fun, but I can also agree that it is very irratating that some players (and I've been on the receiving end of a binder) can ruin a game by binding.

Don't do it is my advice!

Oh, iDenTiTy_CRiSiS - your explanation of 'your problem' really doesn't make sense, you're probably ARE guilty of binding you b@st@rd :)

Thats quite an accusation as I was only inquiring about it - as I have not implemented it!!

Try this: Type a word document using only your right hand and first two of your left - then come with your remarks.
During a game: You have no idea how many times I get killed because I couldn't strafe out the way.

if a gun is supppsed to fire single shot or semi-auto, and "someone" uses binding scripts to make it fire full auto, then it is in my opinion cheating... A good example of i know of is people using binding scripts to make the G3 gun fire as if it was a P90.... That simply makes the G3 an uber gun then...

so no, do not try any binding scripts or whatever...

thats noob man....

why not play the game like its supposed to be played and how everyone else (should) plays...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheating

Cheating characteristically is employed to create an unfair advantage, usually in one's own interest, and often at the expense of others

I remember in ET, you used to be banned for flooding, i think thats something which should be encorporated in the next patch of Cod4

Have you guys considered that I_crisis may have a physical problem with his hand, hence asking first?

At this stage the game allows you to bind the fire button to your mouse wheel. Thus as far as i am concerned it cant be cheating, otherwise it would have been blocked from being assigned ingame.

I personally don't like it, as said before when a single shot gun rattles off like a auto but until the setting gets "blocked" ingame i cant see how it is can be banned as being illegal in COD4.

But that is just my opinion.

Binding

I Have been accused of binding countless times but I don't even know how or what it is. I use the G3 and when i click i can vibrate my finger physically so that it clicks faster.

wahahahha!!

Radikill, youre not the only one! Have a fellow clan member who got a perma ban recently for 'binding' when he actually just clicks fast

My view is that you can bind any key to what ever you want, as long as that key only does one action: just +attack and not "+attack; wait; - attack; wait; +attack; wait; -attack".

I got my mouse wheel binded for fire. Yes you can shoot flippen fast with semi-automatic weapons like that, but I found it really awkward to use it in a real game. Though practice does make perfect and then kudus to that person who perfects it.

If binding mouse wheel to fire is cheating then is it cheating to use esdf instead of wasd? Then anything non-default is cheating and I can't play without an inverted mouse to save my life.
