hahahahaha the whole point of COD4 is to run and gun :D

No offense intended but Promod is where its at. All the n00b unbalanced perks are removed and it is up to individual gunning skill to actually win!

Try pickups on IRC (#cod4pickup) 5v5 clan format!

pro mod is good hey. you dont choose perks only guns. you get default perks which is cool.

well your internet provider wont allow you to use your local seperately:mad: haveto get through your international first
 
Buy an extra local cap from one of the ISP's and use that. I use Axxess local cap for COD and it works like a charm.
 
Are there any particular servers that are recommended for beginners? I'll have my copy of CoD4 by tonight and want to give online a go.

Try out the Team Death Match server on SGS. Good value that. Hardcore servers are okay, just you KD ratio takes a knock as it is one shot one kill mostly... TDM if your reactions are quick enough you can still get a kill before you bleed to death... LOL.
 
Don't have a profile name yet. Just got the game at the Post Office, now I can't wait to get home to install it. Then the long wait for Axxess account to become unthrottled.
 
I'd recommend staying away from the hardcore servers at first. You will die a lot and that will mean waiting around a lot to respawn. Rather go for the TDM server, if you die you can just keep on respawning.
 
There's no way I'll be jumping into hardcore servers. I'll ease into things. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to get online play to work.

Let us know how it goes. I'm picking up the copy I bought on BoB tonight and will probably also try and figure out the online thing. Maybe I'll see you in the thread later on...
 
Can someone please advise.

When patching the game, do I need to download all 4 patches and install them in order, or can I just download the latest patch (1.4)?

The patches are up to 1.7 and I think you need 1.5 and 1.7. Check up on that though. Can't remember.
