COD 4 leveling up files

hi guys,

i'm going to format my drive to do a clean install. im on level 40 with COD 4 and i just want to know where does the game save your progress so that i can copy it and replace it in the folder after the re-install? i dont think anyone will want to do everything all over again in the multiplayer?? i will also be re-installing all my games , but the only 1 i'm a bit confused about is COD...all my games are on a seperate drive, i.e. D:\ ..
any advice???

the players folder in the cod4 folder contains your character, install cod4, update it to the latest version then copy your character over, it should still be ok.

There is a program that will also back it for you if you are to lazy.

Lol I copied my complete COD install folder onto spare drive when I formatted, just in case..

The re-installed, patched created profile with same name, and copied saved folder back over the newly installed folder

Worked for me
