No one else having problems? I bought my game on steam and downloaded it at work. Brought the steamapps folder home and nothing. SP works but MP crashes to:

Error during initialization:
Unhandled exception caught

Nothing helpful on the internet so far. Verify didn't work. I have tried on 2 different computers with 2 different accounts. ;(

Edit: NVM, got it working. :o

Let us know how you fix it, my brother is now getting the same issue, was told he need .netframework installed.. so not sure if it is that or not?

Decided I really need this game, plus I wanted Nuketown just to say I at least have it.

So far very little trouble with the game, with the exception of the P2P thing, I always end up playing with Germans (happened with MW2 and 3 as well).
Whenever I join a SA game or accept an invite I get the "couldn't join " message, but I must also say for the last couple of weeks there was some major problems with the MWEB part of my wireless connection.

Overall the game seems to be what I expected, a typical COD game (that is good for me), graphics not eye popping but will do, MP maps are all right, better than MOH's maps.

I absolutely love the Angola connection in the first SP mission, with the Alouette III, the Buffel troop carriers and the Eland panzer vehicle. Reminds me of a war I never fought in... :). While I know the Alouette sounds wrong and the cabin is wrong, I still enjoy it.

I just hope that some of the guns in the SP will be available later on (DLC) in the MP, would love to have my Galil back.

Overall the game doesn't disappoint at this stage, I have had a few crashes but suspect it might be my PC.

I am not having any problems with this game. I am really enjoying it. Its the first COD since MW2 that I am really excited about :D

The only problem I have is that all my friends are not showing in game :( I could not join Slaughter yesterday because of this... Anyone else having issues with friend lists? I hope they fix this soon...

Oh one more problem. I can't understand why the community chooses only to play TDM. Its not like previous cod titles. All the lobbies are open from level one. Every lobby I go into I ask everyone to play Mosh and they are like no one will be in the lobby but there is 12 of us here. If we all go there will be 12 of us there?

I had a few problems trying to join on friends, but in all pretty solid game so far. I do find in the very first few seconds of a map, there is a bit if lag (video) and FPS drops to about 30, before going back to 60.

Hows the directional audio

I had the same issue IRG is having with the first black ops, what solved my issues was using a custom config (similar to the ones in cod 4 for high fps). I dont know if its possible with BO2 but it might be worth a shot.

BO2 is epic, the levels feel much slower though. Played a good few hours last night getring 20-25 kills a game and im only on level 20 now....

I am really enjoying it only played a few games last night but really feels like a solid game, struggling a bit with hip fire doesn't seem to feel that accurate but then again only been playing with the tar haven't looked at any of the other guns.
Had some international games & even those felt less laggy than on previous Cod's.
Just waiting for more people to get the game so we can find more local hosts.

Ok I'm confused, aren't all games hosted on servers?

That's what I thought as well. There is some kind of matching service which places you according to your skill level or something, not exactly sure what's going on there.

Can someone please comment on the performance of this matchmaking ? A buddy of mine says it can be taxing to find a game on a 3G connection, I'd like to know more about this if I'm going to consider buying it.

Its not bad, but not as distinct as Black Ops 1. I feel the sounds are less realistic too. But its only day one, after a few days it will all feel & sound like the new normal... The maps are very "busy" not a lot of open space, but plenty of tight corridors etc. Definitely a run and gun game imo... Not too fond of the guns yet, will need to unlock more. I kinda feel the graphics are kinda "pastel" or "plastic" if u know what I mean. BF3 realism pwns it in this aspect... Hell if they could COD a BF3 port ... hmmmm.

But as I said, its early days, lots to learn interface wise and setup wise. Getting the right class setup is going to take a while suppose. The matchmaking sux, I wont go search for a game any more, rather just try join on friends. MWEB is supposed to be hosting the local dedi servers, but I'll be f***ed if I know how to find them yet... There is no server browser, either join a buddy or search for a game type. My first game I searched, was dropped into international...

Same here, tried SP and zombies last night, got to MP and I was like whaaaat :wtf:

I'm used to Battlelog...

Tried the matchmaking, eh, took forever to do nothing...

@BaronZA ... gut feel is this is a winner.... has its minor faults at the moment, but mostly just learning curve we all need to go through. As for if its going to be worth it.... I would say yes, there is a massive COD support base in SA! We will play it even if it is kuk ... lol look at MW3!

FYI, I played over 1000hrs on Black Ops 1 and only 400hrs on MW3, but thats still a whole lot of hours... and when Black Ops 1 came out, it was horrid, hence its "BLOPS" nickname. But it eventually got sorted after many patches.
