COD4 multiplayer

am i the only one who cant play cod4 on xbox live?
when i search for a deathmatch game it stays stuck on "retrieving game list" and "getting match quality", whereas in free-for-all it searches for games and then eventually puts me in a game all by my lonesome self, and no one ever joins

i'm not 100% on this, but think i read once or twice that modded Xbox's can't play live

No a few other people are having issues, you're not alone. There are some issues wit hcorrupt save data or something, the guys are waiting or a patch.

No problems here - I had to disconnect the XBOX last night because my 9 year son has been playing 10 hours per day average COD4 on live - damn the blighty - I play and I get on average 6 kills and maybe 1 or 2 assists, he plays and hes average is 15 plus (paradoxza do you read this, he got you like 6 times the other day in one match..)and the occasional heli for 7 kill streak - must be the reflexes, I only manage to get kills (but I did get a 3 kill streak... yay) by planting claymores and then dropping grenades with the martyrdom feature and boy do I drop lots - and then occasionally I get a kill by shooting but I think only cause the other guy has pissed himself by laughing so much because I shoot for like forever until I get one on target - red dot sight and all, sigh, I dunno how long I will be able to keep the xbox disconnected, what else is there to do....

Thanks just as I sit down to start studying I read this... now all I can think about is COD4 and how I need to get my rank up...

I was proud of my 32 until I joined a game the other night and they are all on 55 with .50 cal snipers.... horrible things

what live account do you have? i wonder if it makes a difference? i registered a usa address. occassionaly we also battle to connect to games so we just check all the people we have played against and always find someone who is joinable - but if you are not connecting then that really sucks!

actually if you can connect to live but just not to cod4, then add a friend who has cod4 and then when they are in a game try and join their game, that should bypass waiting in the lobby

If you do manage to connect, you will more than likely connect with international guys. And you wouldnt want to waste your time there as the lag sux. Rather see who on your friends\recently played list are playing COD4 and see if you can join their game (with the white arrow). Most of us play COD4 against local guys/hosts.

Sigh, I just suck at this online, must be the age, at least the boy-child keeps the torch lit. I just don't get it, My max so far is 8 kills - ok, I lie, its 7 kills and 1 assist, damn boy-child takes over, gets a 12 kill streak, calls in choppers and what not and ends up with 26 kills., though I think his best is 33 or 34

So anyhow the challenges just get harder and harder - I mean now have to kill two people with one sniper shot, sheez! Are there any volunteers to stand behind each other while I give it a go?

One challenge which I was expecting to be hard was kill someone, pick up their weapon and kill them with their weapon, but that was actually easy because some moron kept going back to the same hiding spot!

Anyhow definitely the best multiplayer game yet made!!!!

I get the same problem, I can only connect to games from friends otherwise I would have to wait 20 mins to join an international match
