COD4 - PB issue

Hi all COD4 fans,

I've been trying to play COD4 all weekend, whenever I start, I get into the SGS / IS servers and then after playing for about 1 minute, I get kicked with the following error:

gdiza PunkBuster kicked player 'gdiza' (for 0 minutes) ...
PB INIT FAILURE (If this persists, visit evenbalance.com and click support to manually update Punkbuster)

Now, I got the manual updating software on my PC, I ran it, clicked update and it did everything (updated the 3 games I have installed) and said everything was updated.

I went back into COD4 and still I get this error.

Any ideas on what I'm missing / doing wrong?

Had the same problem.

Bring down console as soon as you get into the game type

pb_security 0

That has worked for many ppl.:D
 
push the ` (tilde) key if I'm not wrong.

It must be enabled and you'll find that key next to the left of the 1 key.

Try update your pb manually if you get kicked. To update PB go here and read

PB also needs to verify itself is up to date whenever you go in game. If this cannot happen....you get booted

Sometimes firewalls stop this happening, OR the required port is not open.

You need to open access for PB from in game to allow this to verify.

open console with ~ key

type
/pb_security 0 (press enter) ( dont forget teh slash at the beginning otherwise teh command doesnt work :))
/pb_system 0 (press enter) ( ditto - dont forget slash)

I keep having to send this to guys in our Clan as they join etc..., so I have now saved that piece on our Clan forums for easy reference
 
Well, after entering that command (the last time I played, I entered the above mentioned commands) I seem to be banned from SGS servers.

I've checked my ban status on the SGS web site (via the GUID) and it says there are no active bans on my account.

WTF is going on!??!?

eiash dude thats absolote Balls.

Whats the reason for the Ban?

Did it say?
 
No, becuase if I remember correctly, I couldn't get on because of the errors mentioned above, Gory told me to enter that commands which I did and I think I played 1 or 2 rounds.

Then now I try and play and it says I've been banned from the server by the server admin.

Any SGS server I tried gives me that error.

U sure you did not say some pretty words or something online.

They can usually pickup on that.

Thus a Ban, but if you have checked your GUID, then i have no solotitions.

There have been a few PPl that have been banned for no apparent reason, or so they say.

Maybe email The games Admin and ask them what exactly going on. Maybe they can help.
 
I hardly play COD4 that much anymore, maybe 1 or 2 rounds a day or once a day or hardly once a week, if i swore, I really can't remember at all.

I've e-mailed the okes asking what is going on... hope they reply soon, I want to play man! haha.
