Hi guys,

Does anyone know a driving school in Cape Town that does Code 10 ?!?

My GF needs to do it (For her to become a Paramedic)

Does anyone know any schools?

Code 10 equivalent is EB (car with caravan). She should rather go for B (car or car with trailer) or C1 (small truck <= 16 000kg) like cbrunsdonza says.

Well, C1 is what she needs then because she needs that to drive a ambulance...

I'll also try and get my C1 at some point, but since I only plan to be a volunteer/reservist paramedic, I don't need it but like I said, I'll try get it as well, if I fail, it's not really big to me.

Hmm, depends on what an ambulance is classified as. Have you check the back of your license card? It shows the different codes. I'm pretty sure an ambulance does not classify as C1...

Ambulance will be a C1 as an EB is for a motor vehicle and trailer. Its all about axle weight and PDPs.

gdiza you would most likely need to get a C instead (> 16 000kg) unless you plan to drive the ambulances or smaller 4x4 fire fighting vehicles.

Also a C1 is easier than a B - so sorry I never did that. And an EC is not much harder. My Dad is always trying to get me to do mine, he did his advanced course 10yrs back and it was a breeze.
