Yeah, regardless of whether this is a racist act or just idiots torturing someone; there always seem to be this knee jerk reaction from people to say stuff like "but what about the stuff the blacks do" and then deflect off the actual story. Does hypocrisy exist in when people get upset? Yes of course but its on all sides.

The problem comes in where as soon as its a white person committing a crime, race is brought into it immediately even if that isn't an apparent factor. However if a black person commits a crime then race isn't brought into it unless that black person explicitly states it; and even then it may not be labeled as a racist crime in the media or by society at large.

Yeah, I get that, I really do. I'm not saying there isn't a societal hypocrisy in labeling attacks; all I'm saying I hate how some white people start posting examples of black on white crime and saying why isn't this getting attention etc. when the actual story (like in this case) often gets put in the background.

I agree with the sentiment that attacks are often mislabelled as racist (again this happens on both sides but I acknowledge in SA particularly it seems any white person that commits a crime against a black person is labeled a racist).
 
I long for the day Malema will take his rightful place at the Union Buildings. Maybe actions like these will finally have consequences.

Of course, you should not take the law in your own hands, they should have called the Police.

But, in this country, would the Police have come, and would they have done anything ?

We need to know more of the background to this, hopefully it will come out in court.

Whatever the reason, that video is disgusting. I'm embarrassed and ashamed that people can do this sort of thing to other people. White South Africans especially (given SA's past) should be ultra-senstitive to the implications. That sort of callousness further antagonises. Shame on them.

Malema is not a racist. I do not think that he considers himself to be superior to white people. He is, however, against white people monopolising capital and the means of production. Side note: Mandela was one called a terrorist. His crime: fighting for black people. I expect that Malema will be called all sorts of horrible things as time goes on.
