CoJ becoming strict

Also got a call from an "attorney" - I pay using WalletDoc on the due date every month.

On the call, they had my account number and the amount of my latest bill - told them I had already paid and they asked that I send them the proof of payment - not a chance I'm sending anything to anyone. Wayyy to many scams going around at the moment.

Tried to call CoJ - no one answers there anymore.

Interesting how a month after the DA losing control of CoJ, suddenly this sh*t starts...

Hopefully this pushes people to vote for a proper party next year - I know.. I'm living in dream land :laugh:
 
So regarding the scams, I don’t think this is a scam as there is no way they would benefit. They literally said pay CoJ now and let us know. No change of details - just pay them as you always have & into the same account.

Anyway - this morning I get this. I have no idea what they want. I’m just paying CoJ on the due date as per the statement. Nothing is due though.

Though I did send the below to them to ask wtf

That's pretty much what I do - between 25th and 28th every month for 10+ years . But now it's an issue and they want these idiots phoning me . I checked my Clearscore yesterday and doesn't seem to have affected anything though

They can't black list you lol it's not short-term credit.
 
I just love how the regular trustworthy citizens that pay consistently are handed over and get letters, emails and phone calls to pay (when we already have)... but then you hear of companies, complexes and homes that have millions owing...

They really mustn't complain when they get less from us trustworthy customers that install solar and end up paying them less..

Start collecting from those that don't pay before you come crying to us thanks :)

I purposely never pay the account in full due to their totally useless finance department.
 
Hate to see this in CoJ.

This crap happens at my mom's house. Miss a few days and they add interests. Miss a month and they cut you off from being able to purchase prepaid electricity.
 
Been having this fight with tshwane for years as well. I was pretty good at removing their water restriction doohickey at one stage without breaking the seal and there was no reconnection charge if they don't come and remove it.

When I connected the account they asked for a payment date and I have been paying in accordance to that. The fact that they just change due dates as they see fit really pissed me off.

Anyways its been quiet for 2 years or so so hopefully it doesn't start again although a few more rands into my solar system and they can cut my power and I wouldn't even know.
