Colour e-ink devices

No. A couple expected relatively soon, but they are large 9.7/10" and expect to retail in US at $500+ iirc.

If I'm not mistaken Barnes & Noble has a colour version of its Nook e-reader imminent in the US. But I fully agree that the Kindle is the device to have unless you absolutely cannot live without colour: great build quality, perfect for general e-reading, good after-sales service, and if you pay a little extra you even get 3G for life at no further charge (full web access in SA with a few restrictions you can probably live with given the zero price-tag forever, like no flash, video or actual downloading).

Get one, I like mine. R1500 will get you a wifi model from amazon delivered to your door in a week.

Get 2 people to join the order with you and get it delivered in 4 days for R1250. I've done this twice :-)

The NookColor is a LCD. Looks like a handy device though - much more practical than your typical kindle.

Apparently they are planning a colour e-ink version. As for practical - not very practical as a reader IMO.
