Hey

Having a bit of a problem. Purchased 2 x 24 inch LG monitors some time back. I've tried to color match but one has more of a blue tinge than the other which is affecting my OCD. Are there better option monitors available? I don't game on this setup but I like vibrant colors and not the dull looking ones. Is VA bad or is IPS better? I'm not sure what the new technologies are.

By colour match did you use a colorimeter to calibrate them?
Because without doing that it’s difficult to get monitor colour to match perfectly.
IPS is generally far superior to VA when it comes to colour

No, my screens don't have that port to check. The LG website has the LG Calibration Studio software which requires the colorimeter. I was trying to do it manually.

Have you tried checking if they are both set to the same colour temperature / gamma / RGB settings?

This link may be of some assistance to you... ;)

You don't need a port on the display, get a universal USB colorimeter and use Displaycal to calibrate the displays.
Trying to thumbsuck it doesn't work well.

Yes, I did but then I had to dial out the contrast on the one with the blue tinge to make it similar and reduce brightness on the other. I switched the ports as well and it remained the same.

It says I must plug it into the monitor. Where do I get a colorimeter from anyway? Can I hire one?

With some very high end monitors you can plug the colorimeter directly into the monitor but for all other monitors you buy universal colorimeters, they are quite pricey though R3-5k. Some cine/photography gear hire companies also rent out colorimeters.
