Combine two Contracts on one account

This is driving me crazy - can you believe that MTN is not able to combine my two contract numbers into one account!

My venture started early this week when I renewed both contract telephonically with MTN Business.
I told them that I receive two separate accounts but I would prefer to receive ONE account for both numbers. They told me that their specific call-centre can only renew my contracts but I can phone support (think 809?) right after the call and they will quickly fix it for me.

Now that sounds reasonable, so I called them. They said it can't be done over the phone, they will email me a form to complete then it will be fixed quickly. Sounds reasonable and I confirmed my email address as we finished the call.

Next day, nothing received, call again. Starts all over with my story and told them that I was promised a form to complete, but still waiting. Again I received a promise that the mail will be sent immediately. Again I confirmed my email address as we say goodbye. Getting irritated.

Next day, still nothing received. Phone again. Now they tell me that there is no form, but I can visit the shop and they will fix it immediately. Really disappointed, I asked the person on the other end of the line if he realize it is the year 2015, who goes to the shop these days for something like this? "Sorry sir, that is the only way and they will definitely help you".

Next day, took some time off from work, drive to the shop, explain my whole story again. Initially it looked promising as the guy took all the required detail and said he will phone head quarters immediately to link the two numbers on the same account. So I sat down and wait. After two or three minutes the guy returns with bad news. If I want to link it to same account, I will have to complete a TRANSFER form and undergo the full vetting process with payslips, bank statement, etc. WHY WHY WHY!! Both contracts are on my name. Documentation (vetting/RICA/whatever) on both are up to date.

This is really disappointing since I was quite satisfied with MTN over the past 10 to 15 few years. Is this how loyal customers should be treated?

I obviously sent this exact complaint to the MTN customer care.
Almost got excited on 17 January when I received the following reply:
We apologize for the delayed response.

Please be advised the request was escalated.

But seems like it is buried again :(

I have 2 phones on one business contract since MTN started. I recently added a spare PAYG phone onto the contract without any hassles.
3 phones, 1 statement. Chop chop.
Did this at their Business Centre at Clearwater in minutes.
