Comfortable SUV or sedan recommendations

Yeah well my new Fortuner has more NVH than my old 2008 C class.

So with all the stripping how does it compare to its local competitors, which are also stripped compared to the overseas models?

We clearly don’t quite agree on the ground clearance part. The Cross sits at 161mm, while the Sportage has 181mm. Funny enough, a BMW F30 only has 140mm. And if we’re talking proper comparisons, you’d have to bring in something like a Ranger with 224mm just to level the playing field. More clearance means a little more leeway when necessary.

Also, what do you mean by unnecessary bulk? Are you talking about the bigger size of the car? That’s usually there for a reason: more space.

The height. I am a Subaru SUV kind of guy and has never seen any benefit of the high SUVs since most of them are just fwd.
 
Perfect car for someone who wants a sedan but needs an suv. Pitty they no longer available here since the b9 and are getting a bit on in b8 form,although I think the b8 shape is nicer to look at

At this point I'm leaning towards the Sportage mainly because of the seat comfort (perfomance and fuel economy a plus of course), while I explore other. But honestly, I'm worried if the Sportage will last me for 10+ years without major issues.

Surely you just adjust the headrest until it works for you?

Or even modify it if need be. Seems crazy to skip a car that ticks every other box for one thing that is easy to change.

It could even be as simple as flipping the headrest around.
