Coming off sleeping pills

I cannot sleep with a tv or radio playing. a Friend of mine do have special music that let him sleep, he got constant pain.
Have you decided what you're going to do?

I'm currently also coming off. Rough times boet.

Just keep it up and have faith that you can and will reverse the effects. I like the idea of taking time off, will help for sure.

yes and no, might keep yourself in your mind, whereas at work you would be distracted

Can you not ask your doctor to swop you over to melatonin instead?
This is a good idea to try to reset your body's circadian rhythm. I thought that had been removed from shelves a few years back

Also consider your evening lighting in the house. Dim the lights to get your body in the right mood for sleep.

Not pulled off the market, just not OTC anymore. Need a prescription. :)

Sort of in the same boat.

Worked night shifts about 7 years ago. Would work 5 night shifts, have 5 days off, then 5 day shifts, then 5 days off, etc. Had issues sleeping (duh), so doctor prescribed Zolpidem. Half a pill became a whole as my body built up resistance to it, but the foggy feeling the next day made me decide to come off it. Tried other OTC meds, but nothing had the desired effect. Tried natural supplements, but nothing could make me fall asleep, so was back on the S5 stuff.

Stopped working nights, and when my body had cycled back into "normal" hours, I started weening myself of the pills. Still couldn't fall asleep (would literally toss and turn until the sun came up) - so went back to the OTC stuff. But it was at that stage that I realised what the REAL problem was: I had developed adrenal burn out. TL;DR diagnosis: "tired but wired".

Pretty ****ed up, but fast forward 7 years, and I can count the number of nights I've slept without "assistance" on one hand. And I'm at a loss on how to reset my circadian rhythm, and just get a good night's sleep on my own.

Remember, guys, it usually says it on the box: for short term us ONLY.
tried melatonin? That works by controlling the sleep cycle - prescription only

I stopped taking stillnox 2 weeks ago. I wasn't even taking a whole one most nights, but it's been a pretty horrible time. Even getting anxiety whoch I don't have an issue with normally. I'm taking GABA and had some melatonin left over from a couple of years ago. Might get some CBD or canna oil but that doesn't solve the problem, just the symptoms.
