Have virgin got any near plans to offer cheaper data rates?

Whether it be PPBD's or whatever other option can be offered.

Also,3g - can you give an indication of when the rollout will begin.

Doesn't seem like they're planning to roll out 3G at all at this stage.

w.r.t. data packages, doubt this very much... bundled cellphones, pre-paid bundles, etc. are against virgin's religion... they're very anti-establishment! still, can't complain too much with 50c per meg, especially if u can hook up via the vodacom network with hsdpa. just my 2c worth.

Boodles : It is not up to Virgin to roll out 3G. They are an MNVO, not a full fledged operator. What this means is that rent out CellC's network. So they will only get 3G once CellC rolls out 3G

I'm aware that they riding on cellc's back - but virgin must have some idea as when this will happen, and if/when we can use it.

Like, next year, like never? lol

Also, info on ppdb's.

Speed is becoming more & more important for me.. (i dont get reception for vodacom 3g, which sux)

Theres a thread on the forum saying Cell will not roll out 3G.
So its up to Virgin to start building or they can piggy back off some else, I doubt another SP will want more subscribers clogging up their already congested network. Or maybe they will.

What do you want PPDB's for when with Virgin the rate is 50c from 1st MB anyway - cheaper than almost any except the LARGEST bundles from other networks...?

I agree - PPDB's are crap anyway.

Virgin should have used MTN network. Then we would have seen some sparks flying!!!
