Community CCTV Project

Banks are at 6 FPS.

ALTA cameras would be nice since they record locally and to cloud and you can give multiple users access to the site. The camera just needs an ordinary internet connection. No hole-punching.

That said, they are pricy and have a licensing model.

Where does the PoE switch in the road get power from and where does the router get internet from?

POE switch would be inside, with 2 wires running to the cameras.
POE switch connected to Cudy TR1200 which would have Wireguard setup, which in turn is connected to that sites router (a resident who has fibre)
Looking at a continuous upload of roughly 1.4Mbps per site, or 450GB a month on my latest tests with some settings changes

The main benefit with this route is cost, however from what I can see, there are also considerable cons such as reliance on multiple ISP's (assuming they allow it), not to mention potential power failures.
What this does do is it starts a system, it gets the ball rolling, and it allows for upgradability in the future, budget permitting. It would be easy to shift to an onsite NVR for example, and allow for camera upgrades

Being in the WC I'm sure the DA will be looking for their pound of flesh with a tax
