They have numerous free for personal use security programs, I use their firewall and BOClean, good in my opinion.

Their antivirus is also free for commercial and corporates!

The beta is vista compatible AFAIK.

The firewall rocks, but I'm not so convinced about the AV.

AV is not good. It doesn't pick up the infections my McAfee picks up.

I don't use the AV, 'cos I thought as it's still in Beta versions...might not be so great.

I use AVG anti-virus:

I've been testing out Comodo firewall (the current full version, not the beta v3) for a week or so. Pretty effective and configurable.

Using AVG + ZoneAlarm on our original dialup PC for years with zero complaints. I installed Comodo on my PC when we went to ADSL 2 months ago and it's fine too. So far so good.

My Comodo won't update anymore, but still working. It's a great app.

Update problem fixed!!!!!
In application monitor svchost.exe was blocked, changed to "ask"

Comodo is very good

I've been using the firewall for a few days now, much better than Norton

Can anyone recommend a good free AV though? I was gonna try Comodo's one but if it's not so good.. :/

In terms of free AV your best bet is avast. AVG has a nice feel but is not so hot on the detection ability front. AVG has also thrown me a few false positives.
