I'm considering moving on from my trusty V40 to something with a bit more ground clearance and bigger wheels, but still a smallish car.

At the moment the cx3 has caught my eye most. Other models I can think of are the Juke and the Kona. Is there something else I should be looking at?

We looked at some smaller "compact SUVs" and found the space/storage benefits non existance compared to small/medium hatches. The Toyota CHR was very dissapointing in this regard.

We ended up with a larger, Tiguan as it was priced like the Golf the mrs wanted, but with way more space and overall premium feeling while driving (being higher up and such)...

Not sure your budget. But if I had to choose a car in that segment, its the CX3 too. Just be sure about the practicalities first.

Depending on your budget really. Suzuki Vitara, Honda HRV, Volkswagen T-Cross, Toyota CHR.

Is the t cross available yet?
Only the 1.0 TSI Comfortline and Highline with 85kW is available at R334 600 and R365 000.
The 75kW sub-R300,000 and the high-end 110kW models will be available closer to release.

1.0 TSI with 70kW (available from the second quarter of 2020);
1.0 TSI with 85kW (available at September 2019);
1.5 TSI with 110kW (available from the first quarter of 2020).

Those are decent prices

Opel Crossland X might be worth a look.

Or even the Mokka X.

I’m not sure about ground clearances on either, but just a Google away.

Peugeot 3008, lots of 1 year olds for under R400 000

Didn't they withdraw from SA?

Nope still very much here, but the mothership (as in Germany) changed hands to now be under Peugeot which may relate to why the local marketing and such has been a bit odd of late.

But definitely do yourself a favour and go have a look.

Very well specced and packaged cars.
