Hi there,

I have just ordered the 8ta Go Big deal... Does anyone know if my Vodacom K3565-Rev2 modem work with the 8ta sim and deal?

If not does anyone know the prices of modems that do work? Thanks!

I tried couple of modems with 8ta (probably also K3565), all worked fine. No change in settings of Windows dialup connection created by Vodafone software. But you can't use Vodafone software for dialing other SP. You must unload it from the memory (meaning also from system tray) and dial directly from Windows or use other software like MDMA.

Ok cool. Thanks! So i should uninstall Vodacom 3g Modem software and install MDMA and use that instead? Is it relatively easy to setup?

Unload Vodafone bloatware from the memory. Then just run MDMA, it doesn't need installation, it uses existing drivers. When you happy with this, you can even uninstal Vodafone completely. If you do so, it will try to install again every time you plug-in the modem. Just press ESC or keep SHIFT to prevent autorun starting (disable autorun or CD-ROM as an option).

Thanks mate! Appreciate the advice. Will go look for a download link for MDMA

The K3565 works with all SA networks, including Cell C. Nice little modem !

I flashed Huawei Mobile Partner on mine, that works just fine.

Just another question while i remember...

I have a NetGear Router with a USB port on it. Does this mean i am able to plug my 3G modem into that and use the 3G as the internet AP via my router to my other PC's? Is there a certain something that i need to install or update?

Hi all.

I have got my 8ta sim now and put it into my Vodacom 3G Modem. I have started MDMA but I can't seem to connect to the 3G network. I can see the network, but not connect. What settings etc do I need to setup to make this work?

Would really appreciate the help.
