Competition body wants hackers prosecuted

Right. Here are the facts:

Yes, myadsl was part of all this.
Yes the current version on wikileaks has some censored bits*.
NO the "original uncensored report and links to how to hack it" were NOT published on myadsl at all. That is a blatant lie Mrs CC and you know it. The only thing that was posted on here was a Link to their site to download the respective parts of the report (It was split up in sections) and instructions on how to join them together into one document to make handling it easier. This thread was later removed due to a Take Down Request received by MyADSL.

*Due to technical reasons the images in the report are still censored. :(

Nope. I had a look at the "original" redacted version (the one the CC published to the public) - while it was still split up in parts etc etc- the images ain't recoverable. Klaar oor en verby.

It's horrendous that people would fix the price of bread. I take the advice from Marie Antoinetee and eat cake, although, jokes aside, there are truly poor people that the large corporations are stealing from.

p.s. what happens to the millions in fines? I don't see it buying any more bread.

But I must admit that the thread got a bit "ugly", legal-wise. In any case, the take down of the original thread & Original report caused it to get more limelight in the end :D
 
Well, I wont comment further on the matter as Ive stated my opinions already. What I will add is a welldone to myadsl.co.za.

Its becoming more obvious every day that this forum stands out as a blinding light, a beacon if you will, against the corrupt practices of our corporations.

The platform to express our views, raise concerns and warn fellow users of the pitfalls of their service providers and suppliers. Its also noteworthy that this understanding extends beyond IT matters as well.

So well done and thank you.

Well done for what? The take down request was honoured - I'm disgusted. The corrupt organisation simply moved in with their army of lawyers and wiped the floor with MyBB - that's what happened.
 
Beautiful. I say no one should be sued or prosecuted. The combination of the CC's incompetence and the "hackers'" skill has played out well to keep the public informed - what more could we ask for?

It was too late. Wikileaks had already gone up with the material. They still lose.

Lol, I hope they have a big budget if they intend to go after Wikileaks they survived some serious legal threats in the last 12 months with help of some heavy weight "first amendment friends of the court" :)

Technically, Hacker is quite a loose term anyway - with good or bad connotations, unlike cracker.

I want to see the take down notice. What did they object to??

What 2 versions are you comparing here? Original censored split version as from the CC website OR Original censored combined version OR Wikileaks Unredacted version OR new scanned version from the CC?

Just because it is used rather loosely these days does not change the definition all of a sudden. Still worlds of difference between hackers/crackers/etc.

Lol, ask rpm if you want a copy of the Take-Down Notice - site the access to information act as your reason. The people have the right to know! :p
