Night owl is on prepaid as well.
But it is not on the Top-up contracts. With the 2GB Top-Up data contracts, you lose the 2GB Night Owl component.

Where do you get that? There's no night owl on anything but normal contract.Night owl is on prepaid as well.
Don't you guys have an "out of capping" limit... meaning once you have gone over your 2 gig, you have an additional capping of say R500? When reached, that's it, no more surfing, unless you buy more gigs? Am sure I had this with Mweb..
That's exactly what Jannie was pointing out earlier in this thread. That apparently exists. The only problem is that limit appears to be, by default, set incredibly high and it takes a layman one shock bill to find out and adjust. In the rest of the world it works a little differently. In the UK my contract allowed me a certain amount of data each month and when that was hit, I'd have to call to effectively top it up. There was no chance of opening a bill for GBP2k unless I specified it from the get-go.
In SA on the other hand, it is considered perfectly acceptable to set an incredibly high limit and then expect non-tech-savvy people to do all of the necessary research and adjustments proactively, without any prompting from the networks. Even I don't know the difference between broadband standard and broadband advanced - and based on this thread, I still can't see why there needs to be a distinction between the two, apart from milking customers and making the situation as complicated as possible for the layman to understand...
R20,000 could have gotten you 1.3 Terra on 8ta's network, instead of a measly 20 gigs. :erm:
Um on my mweb application it asked how much I would like to go over b4 my acct would be blocked!! Am i making sense?
Nope, only contract.Night owl is on prepaid as well.
Nope, only contract.
Topup and prepaid runs on a different system than contract and thus you get the different rules.
Contract: near realtime billing, automatic OOB, NightOwl
Prepaid/Topup: real-time billing, automatic OOB only if you have credit in your account, no Nightowl
But with things like ALTNUM, CLL and Advanced you don't need to get any kind of bill-shock.
Especially Advanced. It's better (for you - not me!) than buying an additional bundle.![]()
We are talking about Vodacom and I referred to their way of doing things, which is what your question related to. What is confusing you?

So incredibly simple, one wonders how anyone could possibly not understand OOB, Night Owl, Standard, Advanced, ALTNUM, CLL and all of the associated billing services, restrictions, bundles, combinations and pricing.
What we can conclude from this all is that Blunomore doesn't work for Vodacom; doesn't have a degree in gibberish and acronyms; and is an ordinary consumer, who just like the rest of us, hasn't the foggiest about mobile networks and their offerings. Shame on her. Pay them R20k, Blu...
God only knows what you are saying.
Not sure if you're being sarcastic but the reality is we've done a ****load to try and help subs manage their spend taking into account the limitations we have.
Many of the things you seem to belittle were actually done in conjunction with this forum, from a time when forum members were part of designing solutions instead of attacking everything. Guess the average maturity level was a few notches higher then.
BTW, I've PM'd blu. Not heard anything so far.
