I mean what is the world comming to0 ? if you walk into a shop you see a whole shelff full of different playstation games and then you have to actually look if there is pc games still there...

Do you guy's think pc gaming is going to get expired buy the playstation market??? :cool:

Yea ... I've noticed that tooo ... the thing is ... PC games are usually bought online from places that sell the games cheaper than these shops that you're talking about.

What you're seeing there is the effect of 100 000 ADSL users + a looooot of at-work internet users on the PC Games sales market.

Because Playstation is a monopoly, they make it verrry difficult for a website to sell their games online by making it difficult to find a supplier of those games because of the high requirements to use the reseller.

And then there's all the pirated PC games.

So ... no ... it's not a true refelection on the number of PC game players.

Downloaded PC games are the way to go. Places charge half the price of normal shops, And you never have the problem of NO STOCK.

An added bonus is that the company can keep a record of who has bought a game and you never have the problem of "lost CD keys".

For myself, a PS will never be competition to my pc. I can do so much more than play games with my PC that a PS will never match.

Pay more and thats what you get. Im going to get my game a day it comes out - well not it telkom has anything to say about it :mad:. Im going to pay less And im not going to have a problem with No stock.

I am not interested in playstation, xbox or any of that stuff. If im going to play a game, its going to be on a pc,...period.

How often does a new gaming console come out? At most once every 2 or 3 years. How often does new graphics cards, cpu's etc come out? In some cases its a matter of months. PC hardware is always getting upgraded (usually too fast for most of us to keep up with).

Gaming consoles come out with the latest and greates technology but then thats it till they release the next version (playstation 3 or whatever). Plus there is soooo much more to do with a pc aswell as gaming. In my mind there is absolutly no question,...its pc all the way.

i see both platforms going hand in hand with the next-gen consoles out there, from one perspective its good coz the same SDK used to make a hot Xbox 360 or PS3 game can easily be ported with much less loss of quality or playability onto a PC now.

This due to the fact that the next-gen consoles use the same hardware as the top-of-the-range PC's ATM.

Besides, each platform has their best moments with different genres of games.

Consoles = fighting, racing, sports, adventure, RPG
PC = FPS, RTS, racing, RPG

i have the best of both worlds and can see their advantages. ;)

The only console that is worth anything, is the PSP. You can browse the net with it, have your pr0n ;) mobile (video and photo's), play games, music etc!

For anything else, and the above subtract mobile, the PC is the King of hill! :D

I prefer consoles, and for the exact same reasons. :D
With a console, your platform is locked in for 3-5 years - no upgrades, no expense, and all games work as the designer intended.

Yes, I see your point. But you by no means have to upgrade you pc if you dont want to. But there is always the option to stay reasonably current to enjoy all that technology has to offer. I would get extremely frustrated if I had to stick with the same technology for such a long period of time while watching pc's fly ahead (and games for that matter). Then you buy the newest hottest gaming console, and before you know it, pc's and their games are once again better.

Not going for a personal attack or anything, just my opinion.

How do you figure that?

Game = R150 ??? min
5GB = R350 min
= R450 :eek:

only in southafrica:mad:

They should also consider remaking some of the ps2 games for PC because my friend has a ps2 and there are some really cool games on PS2 that would kick ass on PC!

I dont get it either... a PC game is usually about R399... a PS2 game is R500+.... its the same game!
But then again, a console is cheaper than a decent PC ;)

But even tho PC's cost more, I still prefer them :)

as said earlier, consoles are best for some games and PC for others... how well will you play Soul Calibur 2 on a PC with a keyboard? You will be pathetic just like trying to play Quake 3 with a joypad on the PS2...

as for console game pricing... thank Sony for that fixation...

I totally agree with the fact that it's courses for horses, but also consider:

You can rent PS2 games, so you don't have to fork out R500. (No comments about 'renting' PC games for free, or chipping :p )

Consoles are more "in your lounge" social. Non gamers are more likely to pick up a simple console and play a round of tennis that try to figure out the intricasies of fly a chopper in BF2.
