Comstar Technologies - Another Distribution Company

Hey Guys

Just thought you'd like to know

There is another distribution company Call Comstar Technologies

They got branches in JHB, Durban and Cape Town

There website isn't great but prices are good. I believe they only sell to companies! Branding includes Viewsonic and patriot and a few other!

Been there. Had some run-ins. Not worth it.
 
you must be pretty experienced with pc's when buying from them though, they sell a lot of junk.

They've been sending out a serious amount of e-mail spam to advertise - that alone means I won't even consider doing business with them.
 
That website just made my head explode...and firefox wasn't quite happy either
 
Comstar is fine until you have to return something. Then the slightly better price advantage disappears.

I have known about comstar for ages buddy, trust me, they do sell very, very generic ram and stuff - they also sell biostar :sick:

sure, some of the more expensive BS mobos are ok, but that's why I said, you have to know your way around Pcs.

Personally, I would rather go for PCint :)
 
And their service is extremely slow, more often than not they dont bother replying to e-mails....their systems are constantly down, you wait ages when you collect stock as it is never ready -and their website needs some serious work. Eh, rather give them a miss....well, this is the case with the Durban branch anyways.

They do though, have some difficult to find type products that you cannot find anywhere else, at good prices.

I had never heard of Comstor until I was referred there today. This thread comes up as the no 1 hit in Google (I know!) but not a Comstar site (well not on the first page anyway). So I just tried "www.comstar.co.za" and that takes you to Esquire.co.za ... which makes sense in light of the above negative comments. The little I know about Esquire certainly is not very positive, and I know they do spam like mad.

It was the first hit I got on google when I typed in Comstar Technologies.

Nothing wrong with Esquire, though mainly buy hdds myself.

I see this as Esquire being a bit cheeky, but to my understanding Comstar(SA) & Esquire are not related.

The Company's full name is Comstar Technologies SA Pty (Ltd)

Yea Esquire are cool. They only send you mail if you sign up.I don't see how they would gain out of spamming since you can only buy from them if you have an account.

Just dont buy CCTV stuff from them.
