:confused:Help choosing power supply

Yes if you can afford R100 more get the CX600. But the CX500 will work 100%.

using the CX500 can a HD6950 be unlocked to a hd6970

and where can i get the CX600 if i choose to buy one?

I'm not all that sure. The unlocked HD6950's TDP should be lower than the "true" HD6970.

I think it'll be fine. I stand corrected.

Be safe and get the CX600 as per my original suggestion.

a 750w seasonic is perfect.

I had a zalman zm 600hp though, went after the name, was expensive but was the best power supply i ever had, and most silent.

the pc that i am going to buy comes with thermaltake 500w litepower. Will that be enough?

Do not even consider using the Thermaltake Litepower with a card & CPU like that!

That Litepower 500W will get its ass fried faster than you can throw a rodent at a microwave...

Also, I hope you're praying extra hard that it doesn't take some other components with it on the way out 3 hours in...

The Vantec ION2 is OK, but I'd recommend that you rather stick with Corsair, Seasonic, Antec or the more expensive ranges from Coolermaster.

when a power supply says nVIDIA SLI certificated ready does it mean it only supports nvidia cards or can it support radeon cards as well?

Is the Vantec iON 2 600Watt PSU a good psu. its selling for R600 at matrix computers
http://www.matrixonlineshop.co.za/products/vantec-ion-2-600watt-psu

It means it can support [some] dual card setups, regardless whether Nvidia or AMD.

Depends which ION2. If it's the ION-C (entry level), the Corsair CX600 is better. If it's the ION-A (higher end), then they are very good.

I have the ION-A 550watt and I could not be happier.

Is the zalman ZM600-HP : 600w power supply unit a good one or even the Thermaltake TR2 RX 650W. They both seem to be good ones and seem to have all the plugs for the graphic card and plus the Thermaltake is a modular psu.

okay i will take your advice but i have two really good choices i will either get a Corsair GS600 Power supply or Corsair HX650W which do you think i should get?

Go with the HX650 if you can afford it - 7 year warranty and modular cables. Will really last a long time (in terms of warranty cover, too).

You don't need it though, and the GS600 would be perfectly fine without its modular cables and with its 3 year warranty.

I would go mid line and get the TX650 which is about R100 more than the GS600 but quite a bit better, especially that 5 year warranty.

I PMed some info you to.

The Zalman is better.

+1 to what Qwikslver said. The Thermaltake TR2 range is pretty much in the same class as the Gigabyte Odin & Coolermaster Extreme Power series PSU's.
