Confused Plz Help

Hi,

I hve a 3G mobile, Nokia 6680, would like to use VOIP as my communication method, I've signed up with yeigo, why is it that when i connect to the yeigo network i am using GPRS, why can't i connect using 3G. Sorry i am a doof, is this the only way of connecting via GPRS, can't even hve a decent conversation with GPRS timing out etc

What am i doing wrong or any advise will be appreciated

Arj, on which network are you trying to connect using 3G? It might be due to bad 3G coverage in your area, or your phone has been set to use GSM-only mode.

I use fring with yakyak. My phone is an older N70, but still connects to 3G where available. Most of the time though, i end up on GPRS. It still works fine though, in most cases. Since yakyak have equipment in the IS data centre, the response times are always pretty good, but the connectivity and speed you get, are network dependent.
