For being bold enough to break away from the ANC.

Let's hope Pretoria and Johannesburg can too.

Well done indeed.
5 years late but nevertheless, well done.
My hometown now has a chance to get some proper service delivery going...will take time but lets see how it works out.
Where I reside, CT, still blue, thankfully.

Curious to see which way JHB and Pta swing...close...very close...

I am very happy for PE. Lets hope the DA turns that metro around and put another jewel in the DA crown as a example to the rest of the country. The DA must just remember, they cant just be good at running that metro.....they have to be BRILLIANT!

I will be parked off in Grillers in newton park in 15 minutes time if you want to stop by and collect? :D
How come I've never received an invite to the "local"?

Congrats guys, next stop Durban for the DA. (I can dream...)

It's a serious challenge to turn things around.

The election changes a dozen or two people sitting in a council chamber. It doesn't affect the many underskilled, incompetent and corrupt civil servants who infest the bureaucracy, put there by corrupt political pals. Identifying and then getting rid of hundreds if not thousands of bad apples is a major challenge for the incoming municipal government, especially given SA's burdensome labour laws. It might take years.

Let's hope the DA can use this metro to convince the rest of the nation that they're not a white party. Its really saddening to see how many still believe DA = white = apartheid

I think you will find that more whites will get pissed off than non-whites, as the DA will have to deliver on their election promises to improve living conditions. And the metro budget only stretches so far....
