Hi guys

I want to move over a few files from my MS pc to a Mac G5, it wants me to authenticate the session, any idea's on how to go about doing this and getting around the authentication?

Thanx
Peder

To be honest, if its just a few files, use an external?
Easy method? get an ethernet cable, assign static ip's to each machine, connect cable to each machine, enable file sharing on mac under sys prefs, sharing, file sharing. If leopard click optins and select smb sharing and select account, if tiger i think its under directory utility to enable smb.
I prefer copy from windows to mac side, click start, run, \\ipaddress of mac
it should ask to authenticate, type in the username and passwd of the account on the mac. Copy to your hearts content

i got it working kinda. i have been using dvd's but i wasn't in the mood to write dvd's although i think i have it right for now. thanx allot.

I activated Windows file sharing on the mac.
