Hey is anyone else unable to connect to HSPA in pinetown area of late?
My service has been fine all along until yesterday, where i can only connect to wcdma and edge..wont even let me surf the net or log onto xbox live...

Thanks guys.

i was able to get 3G yesterday, but the connection was a bit erratic. i stay at the bottom of cowie's hill. how's your connection today? i'm playing on psn at the moment.

The tech guy at cell c reckons there is a prob with the network in the area.. thats about as much help he could give me. Im in manors, kloof side.
He tried to reset a few things, spoke to him for about half an hour (major airtime wastage), and he reckons i should be ok in 24 hours...

We will see :/

5 days on and still no luck :(
no one at cell c seems to be able to help so looks like im going to be stuck on edge for a while....

sorry mate - everything is running well this side. maybe they changed the angle of the transmitter slightly and now you're in a dead area? hopefully things improve soon!

nope.. dont have that sorta cash at the moment..
just dont understand how it could be 100% for a few weeks then suddenly stop working. hmph.
dont wanna get an antenna and then it does nothing.

Well if it's only connecting to EDGE it might be the same problem as all those threads titled "stuck on EDGE" and the like.
The modem switches bands and doesn't automatically switch back bands. In the network options change the band to 900/1800/etc. and apply and then try connect to vodacom 3G then go back change band to auto and apply and then try connect to cell c 3G again.
If you've already tried this just ignore then :p

@ Decotey : Im going to try that tonight, and maybe consult witchdoctors first for extra support :P
@ Tom110584: i will also give that a shot when i get home.

Shot guys... i will provide feedback tm. really want to get my woosh back! haha.

have you tried downloading this: http://www.google.co.za/url?sa=t&so...hKO00OZUGYZo0SS_A&sig2=hveMdPQUlCXs_JQuM08FEg

it's like the cell c connection manager but you can choose to only connect on UMTS 900 and register with cell c 3G. these options are greyed out in the cell c one.

There's a fix for that here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...MA-only-quot?p=5163297&viewfull=1#post5163297
which will mean your using later version drivers than what you linked to above.

To get it off Edge

It worked :D
Tried to register with another service provider, then refreshed and the cellc 2g/3g icon was back!

I reckon Cellc's tech guys should read this forum for some training :P
