Newb-lite is basically saying the connection appears very 'bumpy', i.e. throughput is erratic! 
Actually not, 'Bump' implies the question was not answered and the poster want to 'bump' the message in importance, a bit like "You did not answer me yet!"

i pinged www.google.com last night , and my pings were on average 1500 and up , and my loss was realy high.
downloading form usenet was slow (www.easynews.com)
then i tried guildwars , and it just went for a ball. i used to average 20 kb/s on the game , and now im only getting 1 or 2 kb/s if lucky. i tried doing the gprs thing , but that ended up hanging the card.
im trying from the blouberg strand area. (2-3 bar signal strength)

I'm on GPRS today, 3G givs an error.
