Hi All,

I have been struggling since yesterday connecting to vodacom 3g.hsdpa (via data card.) I've got signal (4/5 bars) here. I do get connected but I only seem to be sending data - not receiving. My connection icon in the right bottom corner only reports that 311 bytes of data has been received and then it stays like that. I do get an IP address (10.61.x.x) but can't surf or ping at all.

I had to connect with MTN GPRS now just to get online. I'm in the Brackenfell area. Any ideas ? Network problems maybe ?

Nevermind - Seems I'm the only one - so must be my settings...

What area you in - its very difficult to judge a problem area if there is no location mentioned ....

I just tried to connect via my data card to Vodacom and get 619 errors... I am now on MTN - no problems and running on edge (no 3g on MTN or Voda)

its probly signal issues

when you have 2 out of 5bars then you have full connection (signal)

when yours is 4 out 5 does it say accuiring the whole time?

No It's definetely not my settings. I'm only connecting at 236.8kbps, getting random disconnects and signal is suddenly much poorer (2.3/5 bars)

I'm in the Brackenfell (Cape Town) area.

I'm not using the VMC software anymore. I prefer the Hauwei software (coz it's quicker and more accurate) and if that doesn't work I just use the "3G Only/Preferred" connection from the Network connections menu.

only way for me to connect in Bloem area is by forcing a 3G connection as gprs only sends data and doesnt recieve anythin. now you may ask whats wrong but i dont need 3G as it use too much batt
