Connection switching between 3G, HSDPA and HSPA+

Can't remember where but somewhere on these forums someone added a script you can run to keep the connection active. It constantly pings Google. Think it was a thread in the MTN section.

HSPA Locker - http://forum.telefonino.net/showthread.php?t=743452
Only point i see in it is for gamers using 3G otherwise your just wasting cap for no reason

On that forum it is also mentioned that browsing will feel smoother. I can imagine - i've noticed when you open a webpage initially the connection is slow and then ramps up speed as the modulation scheme changes from normal 3G to HSPA+. If you're on HSPA+ modulation from the start it should feel quicker? Will play around a bit tonight.

ohh btw.. you can just ping with "ping google.com -t" and it will repeat until you press "ctrl+c".

this is the command i use, it will run a continous ping while only using 2 bytes a second.

ping www.google.com -t -l 2

This keeps me permantly on HSDPA+
